New Fast Wax Twin Cities Ski Series presented by Bjorn Daehlie

Announced today, the new Fast Wax Twin Cities Ski Series will kickoff this weekend at the Skinny Santa Solstice Ski 20k at the revamped Woodland Trails in Elk River.  The newly formed series will feature 10 races throughout the season all close to the Twin Cities metro area.  According to series manager Kevin Johnson, “This is a great mix of established races.  The series has a real flow to it.  The early races are somewhat shorter and are a great way to test your fitness and practice race-day strategies. Then comes the Tour de Twin Cities events which let you race on the same trails as the best skiers in the country; and learn some of their secrets.  Next come the Loppet and Vasaloppet; the marquee events of the Minnesota racing scene.  The series culminates with the Snowflake/Inga Lami race which is one of the oldest races in the country; a true classic!”

Better get the word out quickly about which distance – 10k or 20k – on Saturday will be scored in the Series. Especially as you write that the earlier races are shorter.

For Saturday’s race the 20k will be the race that is scored.
